Cheltenham Rotary
2019-2020
Some of the many organisations we have supported during the year are Yimba Uganda, MUNA, RYPEN, Cheltenham Community Centre, Cambodian Academy, Cheltenham Secondary College and Emerge.
We have had social occasions at Cerberus Restaurant, Cup Day BBQ at Colleen and Stephens, BBQ at the Muries and a joint meeting with Noble Park-Keysborough.
We planted trees, packed birthing kits, handbags and gift bags with the Brownies and did BBQ’s for the Southern Autistic School and the Rose pruning day.
Our Zoom meetings have included speakers, our favourite books, baby photos and a virtual wine and cheese tasting.

Some of the organisations that we have supported during the past year are Friendship Square Kindergarten with sand pit covers, Backpack beds for the homeless, Cheltenham Community Festival, BBQ for the Rose pruning day, Bayside Church Christmas lunch with Sharon’s Brownies putting the labels on the lolly bags for us.
We have supplied handbags and filled them with products and distributed them to women with limited resources, collected overseas coins and stamps and supported Wheelchair for Kids with gold coin donations at our meetings, raising $780.
We have supported Doris Livingston, Yimba Uganda, Next Steps, Acclaim, Kingston Community Homeless Initiative and the Cambodian School through Alan Brown and his Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin in Thailand.
Our afternoon Tea in August was a great success as usual, our members worked hard to make sure our guests felt welcome and special while also having a good time themselves.
Birthing Kit day with The Rotary Club of Mordialloc went very smoothly, finishing in record time. It is rewarding to think that our efforts can make a lasting difference to the lives of others.

Our BBQ commitment extended to help with the opening of the Southland Train station where in the month of November we helped with 2 events and gave away over 500 sausages and 300 Egg and Bacon rolls.
We continue to support the market with a BBQ event at the beginning of each month.
This year we celebrated the club’s 45 years with a great Gala event at the Victorian Golf Club where we enjoyed dinner with our members, past members and guests.
